REPORT: MacFarland Not Allowed To Interview for Sharks GM

On the most recent 32 Thoughts post from Elliotte Friedman, it was reported that Colorado Avalanche assistant general manager Chris MacFarland was not permitted to interview with the San Jose Sharks for their open GM position.
It’s possible he finds himself in a larger role with the Avalanche, but it’s an interesting bit of insight as the Sharks’ search nears a conclusion. While there have been a number of names thrown around, MacFarland was a Sharks fan favorite because of his achievements in Colorado, including this year’s Stanley Cup.
A source told San Jose Hockey Now that he “considers MacFarland the brains behind the Colorado’s rise to power.”
So it makes sense why the Avalanche would keep him from the San Jose Sharks!
