Byron Bader Talks Eklund’s Development, 2022 Draft

Byron Bader of Hockey Prospecting joins to discuss how his prospecting model works and his goal to find NHL players by comparing them to the last 30 years of hockey. We discuss how COVID has affected his model and why European goalies are at such an advantage (9:00). Byron analyzes the 2022 NHL Draft and how the top three players compare (15:00), Brad Lambert’s red flags (21:00), and who he would take over Kevin Korchinski, Pavel Mintyukov, or Denton Mateychuk (24:00). Finally, we look at William Eklund and a slight concern after his last season (27:00), the 2020 Draft class, which San Jose Sharks prospects that he thinks will be NHLers (30:00), and Gannon Laroque and the 2021 Draft class (32:00).
