BREAKING: Sharks Draft Goalie Benjamin Gaudreau

Published

on

The San Jose Sharks have drafted Benjamin Gaudreau.

Gaudreau is a 6-foot-2 goalie who was scheduled to play for the Sarnia Sting in 2020-21, but the OHL season was cancelled. However, he starred on Canada’s U18 gold medal winner, also taking home the Goaltender of the Tournament honor.

The San Jose Sharks selected Gaudreau with the 81st pick in the third round.

Per the Elite Prospects 2021 Draft Guide: “Gaudreau is a quick, nimble goaltender….He’s got a more structured technique than a handful of other prospects on this year’s board…signs of a more mature game.”

The San Jose Sharks should make Gaudreau available to the media shortly.
