San Jose Sharks
Time for Hill to Prove His Worth
Check out my “Sharks Pregame Live” hit!
Sheng Peng: It’s a big opportunity tonight for Adin Hill.
It’s his first start since Jan. 20 in Seattle. He’s been out with a lower-body injury.
The San Jose Sharks’ other starter, James Reimer, is also hurt, and he won’t be back, at earliest, until late next week.
So Hill needs to prove he’s worth the second-round pick that the San Jose Sharks gave up for him over the summer.
You can argue that Hill has been probably the Sharks’ most expensive acquisition over the last three years, in terms of what they gave up.
In this organizational “reset” where they’re emphasizing adding draft picks and prospects, instead of sending them out, it’s a big deal that they gave up a second for Hill. The San Jose Sharks believe in him.
But Hill has been up and down this year, statistically one of the worst goalies in the NHL this year
Can he go on a run and stake a claim on the San Jose Sharks’ No. 1 job next year?
