It’s back!

San Jose Sharks VP of marketing Doug Bentz teased it last month at San Jose Hockey Now, president Jonathan Becher hinted at a pre-Christmas rollout, and now, the Sharks have made it official:

The San Jose Sharks will wear these jerseys at Heritage Theme Nights during the 2020-21 season, dates to be announced.

Per the San Jose Sharks: “The heritage jersey blends the tradition of the original Sharks jersey, worn from 1991 through 1998, with today’s version, including subtle design updates such as utilizing the team’s updated shade of teal and enhancements to the crest and shoulder patches, to maintain the integrity of the original jersey.”

Of course, the Sharks have not one, but two original jerseys:

Here at SJHN, we’re also big fans of the original home jerseys, so we checked on whether or not the whites were coming back for the 30th anniversary too.

“We will not have white throwbacks this season but understand that fans would love to see us expand the throwback options,” Bentz told San Jose Hockey Now. “We’re considering that as we look at future jerseys.”

The Sharks also announced other 30th anniversary initiatives here, including a celebration of teams and great Sharks players from every decade, a 30th anniversary video content series, and activations with fan-favorite Sharks alumni.
