Preview/Lines #29: Flu Bug Bites Sharks
The San Jose Sharks have had to deal with more than just the typical hockey injury recently.
A flu bug is running through the San Jose room, and is believed to have bit Jonah Gadjovich, Tomas Hertl, Radim Simek, Nick Bonino, and Steven Lorentz, among others.
This flu bug, concurrent with all the Sharks on IR – Nico Sturm was taken off today, but Mario Ferraro, James Reimer, and Matt Nieto are still on it – has made it a challenge for David Quinn to put together a healthy line-up.
Not that the bench boss is looking for any sympathy.
“Everybody goes through it,” Quinn said. “I literally don’t spend two seconds on it. It’s part of sports, it’s part of coaching, and you got to manage your roster and guys have to step up.”
