Preview/Lines #13: Addison Hoping To Be Long-Term Solution for Sharks
Calen Addison is excited to join the San Jose Sharks.
He said so a half-dozen times after his first Sharks practice.
Addison, 23, is a pending RFA after this season, and there’s good reason for him to be excited about being in San Jose. The offense-first defenseman, acquired yesterday from the Minnesota Wild, has already been installed on the top pairing with Mario Ferraro and on the top power play unit.
For a puck-mover like Addison and an offensively-challenged squad like the Sharks, this could be a great match.
And Addison knows it: “I want to show them that I want to be here for a long time.”
So what should we expect from the 5-foot-10 rearguard?
“For me, it’s working hard and playing my game, moving the puck, moving my feet,” Addison said.
And where can he improve, to help him find a home in San Jose?
“I think just be more productive on the ice. Being called upon in different situations. Showing that I can defend, showing that I can play against the best players, and just keep playing my game offensively. Tighten up the defensive game,” he acknowledged.
