Relevant to the San Jose Sharks, Dan Kingerski of Pittsburgh Hockey Now thinks that Andreas Athanasiou will wear teal.

If San Jose misses out on Conor Sheary — San Jose Hockey Now reported on Thursday that the Sharks were talking to Sheary’s camp — Athanasiou could be a reasonable signing. Like Sheary, Athanasiou is fast and can score. There’s no doubt that the San Jose Sharks need to add offensive punch up front and Doug Wilson has said, “We want to get faster as a group.”

There are few skaters faster than Athanasiou in the league. The speedy winger, however, isn’t without his red flags.

“He’s an empty player,” an NHL scout told SJHN here:

At the moment, SJHN isn’t aware of any contact between the San Jose Sharks and Athanasiou’s camp.
