Locked On Sharks

Erik Karlsson Is Over the Blues

Published

on

Kyle goes on an epic Erik Karlsson rant for the first 10 minutes of the podcast and JD just silently nods in agreement. Then we get into the rest of the San Jose Sharks game, including first-line forward John Leonard (12:00) and the rest of the young San Jose Sharks forward corps. Then we talk about Devan Dubnyk’s night (15:30), break down the power play goal (20:30), and what we expect the lines to be going into Friday’s game (25:00).

Check out the podcast on TwitterInstagram, and Facebook.

This EK rant is so my spirit animal. I feel exactly how you’re feeling about those idiots at places like the Athletic, etc.

It was like a giant middle finger to Reddit, The Athletic, and at least half of Sharks Twitter, and I’m here for all of it.

I agree with Kyle’s Karlsson on-ice assesment, and I also agree that tries and cares unlike how the media is painting him. But I think he went too far in saying he’s good leader and critizing John Scott’s inside info and even Jumbo’s leadership style. I will say that Jumbo has also been mentioned as someone who can be a little too cutting with his criticism — he’s not a perfect leader. But who is? I mean, the NHL’s leadership award is named after Mark Messier, and look what he did in Vancouver. But I agree that Scott certainly has a one-up on us in inside knowledge — which doesn’t mean that he’s definitively right. But for sure, based on his guests, he still has a relationship with Couture, Vlasic…a long line of people who could’ve thrown Karlsson under the bus, valid or not. My… Read more »

That’s all valid. I don’t have a problem with Kyle’s lovefest with Karlsson especially what he’s doing on the ice recently, I just thought he got overboard a little saying he’s a better leader than others without anything to go with. Again, not saying he’s a bad leader, we just can’t compare with our limited resources and then throwing Scott and Jumbo under the bus. Thanks for your reply Sheng!
